I rated 20 Major Airlines... so you don't have to
20: worst - 1: best
I rated 20 Major Airlines based on allergy policies, whether they have adrenaline, where they travel and more - I also used real life experiences from the Spokin App. I give you the rating, a summary but if you want to know further information please toggle the topic to find. out.
I was actually surprised with some of the ratings, especially number one.
When traveling to new destinations or regular ones, the airline can make or break the trip. It is so hard to decide from all the choice, which one to go for - and on top of that they don’t make it easy to find all the information in one place.
Well, I have had enough and I want you to take back some control and relieve some of the stress in travel. I want this to be your guide, your go-to. Not only have I rated the airlines, I wanted you to have a place where you can come back and find out their information.
Sometimes airlines are very different on board than they are online - some in a good way and others in a bad way. There are a lot of reviews where they have gone against their online policy on board, and when you are in the throws of dealing with flight crew its too much to have to go and find the information - well here it is. I have mainly copied their relevant information from their website so there is not misinerpreation.
If you disagree with my ratings please comment below - remember that everyone has different experiences based on their specific allergens, flight crew, policies and more. . I did not rate them based on one factor and some of them where difficult decisions but most importantly I wanted you to have all the facts.
I want you to use this as a guide for when you are booking your next trip!
💉- Carry adrenline on board (I called a lot of customer services) - this needs to be updated as some airlines I was unable to get a direct answer.
I hope you fly safely, advocate for yourself, bring safe snacks and enjoy your destination!

If you have a specific diet, you can choose from our range of dietary meals instead of from our onboard menu. Simply book a dietary meal up to 24 hours ahead of your flight through Manage Your Booking.
Some of our dietary meals aren’t available in Economy Class on flights lasting less than two hours. They also have religious meals, medical and dietary meals (no allergen meals), vegetarian meals, baby and child meals, and special occasions (cake & champagne). -
We can’t guarantee our meals are nut free. We serve nuts on all our flights, either as a meal ingredient or as an accompaniment to drinks. Other passengers may also bring food on board that contains nuts, and traces of nut residue could be passed on to other surfaces of the aircraft as well as through the air conditioning system.
If you have a nut allergy, we recommend discussing your travel plans with your doctor before you fly and please contact your local Emirates office(opens in the same window).

We cannot accept liability for allergic reactions because we cannot commit to keeping our aircraft allergen-free.
Passengers who are allergic to a specific food can select a special meal from the options or do so during the reservation process.
You must have your prescription for the auto-injector and doctor’s report with you to ensure that you do not have problems passing through the airport security and make sure to check any precautions that must be taken before the flight.
-
Health and gluten free meals available.
-
The meals and treats served on our flights may include hazelnuts, or peanuts and other foodstuffs. If passengers with hazelnut and peanut allergies state their allergies via Turkish Airlines sales channels up to 48 hours before their flight, an allergen-free menu will be made ready for the passenger.
Passengers who have severe nut and peanut allergies, that are not carrying a doctor’s report with them, may not be admitted to the flight for flight security purposes.
If you have nut and peanut allergies, you should inform the cabin crew of your allergies in case an emergency may arise, and show your medication and doctor's note that states what needs to be done in case of emergency. Our cabin crew is trained in first aid, but if you have a serious allergy we also advise you to travel with a relative that can help you.
However, we cannot guarantee that other passengers will not bring foodstuffs containing nuts and nut particles may spread in the aircraft during the flight through the air conditioning system.
Despite the precautions taken on your flight, we cannot accept any responsibility for any allergic reactions that may occur as we cannot ensure our aircraft is free of nuts such as hazelnuts and peanuts.

Qatar Airways cannot guarantee an allergen free environment (e.g. eliminating tree-nuts, peanuts, eggs, milk and other items that might cause an allergic reaction). Qatar Airways does not accept responsibility for allergic reactions. Passengers suffering from severe food allergies may consider a few precautions if they are concerned that they might be at risk of allergen exposure, such as: Bringing their own meals, Informing the airline or on-board crew of specific allergies, Carrying prescribed anaphylaxis or other treatment and ensuring it is ready for administration by yourself or any of your travel companions (for example: ready-for-use epi-pens).
Allergies can be of two types i.e. mild allergy or severe/hyper allergy.
Customers with a history of a mild-allergy: Are responsible for carrying any necessary medication with them onboard: May be required to sign a waiver of liability
Customers with a history of a severe or hyper-allergy: Must provide a completed medical information form (MEDIF) at the time of reservation or at least 48 hours prior to the scheduled departure time to allow adequate time for the form to be approved by Qatar Airways, Are responsible for carrying any necessary medication with them onboard, May be required to sign a waiver of liability, May bring their own meals onboard the aircraft in case they need to be certain of an allergen-free meal, Because of the risk for contamination and limited aircraft facilities, Qatar Airways is unable to refrigerate or heat such meals, Meals should be free of strong odor/smell to avoid inconvenience to other customers, Quarantine regulations for some countries require that any food brought onboard by a customer must be consumed or left onboard.

Qatar Airways does not provide nut-free meals. We also do not guarantee against cross-contamination of nuts within our in-flight network. Kids 8 to 11 with severe allergies must travel with a parent or guardian, or a support person 16 or older, as do youth 12 to 18 if they are not able to self-administer their medication. As a key component in upholding the appearance of our aircraft, our fleet is subjected to several levels of cleaning on a regular basis. We perform interior cleaning during each scheduled stop, which addresses the lavatories, galleys, seating areas and all carpeted areas. On a nightly basis, each aircraft undergoes a more comprehensive interior cleaning process that includes more detailed elements and areas not covered during the routine cleaning during each stop. These additional areas consist of, but are not limited to: trays tables, side walls, coffee pots etc.
HEPA
Our aircraft uses High-Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) filters. Filters meeting the HEPA standard have many applications, including use in medical facilities, automobiles, aircraft and homes. The filter must satisfy certain standards of efficiency such as those set by the United States Department of Energy (DOE). To qualify as HEPA by U.S. government standards, an air filter must remove 99.97% of all particles greater than 0.3 microns from the air that passes through.
