RECIPES: Baked apples with sunflower seed butter

RECIPES: Baked apples with sunflower seed butter

makes 1 snack

I was always jealous of my friends in school when they came home and their parents made them cut up apples and peanut butter. Well when I discovered sunflower seed butter my life changed. I asked loads of my friends how it compared to nut butters - almost the exact same taste! Now with the apples - I used to have an oral allergy to raw apples, that is why I sometimes bake my apples. I add cinnamon, and mixed spices so have a flavour of sugar let them cool and then serve.

Ingredients

  • One apple

  • 2tbsp sunflower seed butter (can be store bought or homemade)

  • 1tsp cinnamon

  • 1/2tsp mixed spice

Method

  • Preheat oven to 180ºc or don't bake them.

  • Slice up apples and place on a tray (baking) or plate (non-bake)

  • Add the spices on the apples and mix around to coat them

  • Place in the oven for about 15 minutes or until golden brown, or if you are not baking them move on to the butter

  • Take a small bowl and scoop out the sunflower seed butter into the bowl

  • When the apples are cooked and cooled, place on a plate and dip them into the butter!
