12 DAYS OF FOODMAS: Day 12
Its here! The last day of foodmas and it is Christmas eve!
Christmas eve means that we put out cookies and treats for Santa and his reindeers. This year I wanted to show my appreciation for them as I have such amazing presents each year.
On the 12th day of Christmas my true love gave to me…
Santa cookies and his Reindeer donuts
Santa cookie ingredients
200g granulated sugar
226g butter (softened)
1tsp vanilla
1 egg
390g flour
2tsp baking powder
1tsp salt
Icing ingredients:
Royal Icing sugar
Red colouring
Edible eyes
Chocolate drops
White mini marshmallows
Circular cookie cutter
Method
Preheat oven at 350ºf/180ºc/gas mark 4
In a mixing bowl, cream together the sugar, butter, vanilla, and egg.
Slowly add in the flour, baking powder and salt. Mix as you go.
Once the mixture is formed, place on a lightly floured surface and roll out, keeping them quite thick.
Cut into the desired shapes. Circles if wanting Santas.
Place on baking trays with gaps between the cookies.
Bake for 10-12 minutes.
Let them completely cool
Follow the instructions on the royal icing pack. (Make sure the consistency is quite stiff)
Separate the icing sugar into two bowls.
Add the red icing colour to one of the bowls, to make sure it is a deep red, keep adding and mixing well.
When the cookies are cool, dip one side of the circular cookies in the white icing and the opposite side in red icing. Repeat for all the cookies
Dip the edible eye in the icing sugar and add to the cookies.
Place the chocolate drop (nose) in the white icing.
Place the white marshmallows on the edge of the red icing on the cookie (the fluffy hat).
Move to the fridge, to cool and harden.
I doubled my ingredients and made smaller shaped cookies.
Reindeer donuts ingredients
The donuts are my pumpkin donuts.
Icing ingredients:
2 bars milk chocolate (I use NOMO)

Salted pretzels
Red button sweets
