PODCAST REVIEW: The Allergy Today Podcast
UPDATE: Unfortuneately, this podcast is no longer recording episodes. You can still listen to previous episodes but it is no longer current.
This is a new podcast (the time I am writing there is only 2 full episodes and a taster. However, I can tell you that this is already a fantastic podcast to listen to, whether you suffer from allergies or not! It is hosted by Alice (who has no allergies), Ruth (who has anaphylaxis, eczema and more) and Quentin (who has asthma, allergies, anaphylaxis).
Weekly discussions are with the team and many great guests- including Michelle Berriedale-Johnson (who is an author and runs FoodsMatter, and she founded the FreeFrom awards), Tanya Ednan-Laperouse (who spoke about the death of her Daughter Natasha who has now founded Natasha’s foundation which is creating a world that is safe for all allergy sufferers everywhere) and Daniel Kelly (who runs May-Contain blog, has a severe peanut allergy, and brings in real life events to discuss what to do when you have an allergy in those situations to change the stigma).
This podcast is full of knowledge about anaphylaxis, epipens (i didn’t know that the entire category is called auto-injectors not epipens and that Emerade is actually the preferred choice), steroid use for eczema, may contain labelling, eating out, running, government changes and much more!
I wish I had this podcast when I was young but it is never too late. I struggle with reading about all the new research relating to allergies and the deaths, reactions, mishaps as it is so close to home, so having a podcast where they share everything is terrific for me PLUS they make me laugh because, if you didn’t laugh you would probably cry.
You can find the podcast on the Apple podcast app, Spotify or any other podcast apps by simply typing in ‘Allergy Today’.
Let me & them know what you think!
