Baked cinnamon sugar donuts
I love making donuts. I hope we all know this, but I also love experimenting with my donuts. Donuts do not have to be hard to make it tasty- you don’t need to fry them or fill them to impress. These donuts are simple but amazing!!
I got this recipe from amindfullmom.com —> through Pinterest
Donut ingredients
1 cup plain flour
1/4 cup sugar
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1/3 cup milk (I use koko milk)
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 tbsp melted butter (I use plant flora light)
Sugar dust topping ingredients
1/4 cup melted butter
1/4 cup sugar
2 tsp ground cinnamon
Method
Preheat the oven to 180ºc, grease your donut pan. (Will make 6)
In a large bowl mix the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and cinnamon.
In a mixing bowl add milk, egg, vanilla, and melted butter.
Add the flour mixture to the egg mixture slowly whilst mixing the ingredients until combined.
EITHER pour the batter in a piping bag and pipe it into the donut moulds
OR use a teaspoon and add the batter in slowly making sure it’s even in the moulds
Put the donuts in the oven for 10-12 minutes (golden brown on the top)
Take out of the oven and let cool completely
When donuts are cooled, mix the melted butter, sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl
Plate the donuts face down in the topping mixture- spread evenly over the top
Add to a serving plate, eat when topping is cool.
Enjoy! (Place in an air tight container to keep freshness)
