No Fuss Fig Jam

Jam is probably my favourite condiment. I put it with meats, fish, on toast, pancakes everything. A lot of the time jam is VERY high in sugar and VERY processed - it tastes good but sometimes I want the fruit. Here is a no fuss fig jam for when you need to have a hit of jam.

Ingredients


  • 2 fresh figs

  • 1/2 lemon (juice)

  • 1tbsp brown sugar

Method


  1. In a small sauce pan, heat 1/4 cup water

  2. Slice figs thinly

  3. Place figs in water

  4. Let them cook until soft

  5. Add lemon juice and sugar

  6. Keep cooking until all sugar has dissolved and figs soaked up water

  7. Remove from heat

  8. Let cool before serving
