Baked cinnamon sugar donuts

I love making donuts. I hope we all know this, but I also love experimenting with my donuts. Donuts do not have to be hard to make it tasty- you don’t need to fry them or fill them to impress. These donuts are simple but amazing!!

I got this recipe from amindfullmom.com —> through Pinterest

Donut ingredients

  • 1 cup plain flour

  • 1/4 cup sugar

  • 1 tsp baking powder

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon

  • 1/3 cup milk (I use koko milk)

  • 1 egg

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 2 tbsp melted butter (I use plant flora light)

Sugar dust topping ingredients

  • 1/4 cup melted butter

  • 1/4 cup sugar

  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon

Method

  • Preheat the oven to 180ºc, grease your donut pan. (Will make 6)

  • In a large bowl mix the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and cinnamon.

  • In a mixing bowl add milk, egg, vanilla, and melted butter.

  • Add the flour mixture to the egg mixture slowly whilst mixing the ingredients until combined.

  • EITHER pour the batter in a piping bag and pipe it into the donut moulds

  • OR use a teaspoon and add the batter in slowly making sure it’s even in the moulds

  • Put the donuts in the oven for 10-12 minutes (golden brown on the top)

  • Take out of the oven and let cool completely

  • When donuts are cooled, mix the melted butter, sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl

  • Plate the donuts face down in the topping mixture- spread evenly over the top

  • Add to a serving plate, eat when topping is cool.

  • Enjoy! (Place in an air tight container to keep freshness)
