12 Days of Foodmas 2021

Since 2019 I have done Foodmass. Every other day I share a new Christmas recipe in the lead up to Christmas day. This year I wanted to focus on the recipes in the community. It is very important to share others work and champion people in the allergy & free from space. This Foodmas join me in celebrating 12 food bloggers and tag us both if you make these recipes.

FOODMAS 2021

On the 1️⃣ day of Foodmas my community gave to me

Easy gluten free vegan apple pie by @livingbeyondallergies.

This recipe is free from wheat, gluten, dairy*, casein *, eggs, soy, peanuts, tree nuts, coconut, fish, shellfish, crustaceans, mollusks, celery, corn, sesame, mustard, lupin, sulphites +

Laura’s favourite Christmas Tradition is “one my grandmother started years ago. One Saturday in December all the women of the family would go to my Grandma's house early in the morning. All day long we would bake cookies, cakes, and other favorites treats for Christmas Day. We have a big family and baking dozens of treats is much more fun with everyone! One year, we made about 700 cookies! We all look forward to Cookie Day.”

Laura creates delicious desserts and healthy meals that are allergen friendly, vegan and gluten free. I love her recipes, they are easy and yummy!

On the 2️⃣ day of Foodmas my community gave to me

Easy garlic breadsticks by @thenutlessbaker.

This recipe is free from allergens apart from gluten. Contains gluten and yeast, and can be made vegan.

I love this recipe because it reminds me of Olivia Garden- I cannot tell you how many of those breadsticks I have eaten.

Alisons favourite Christmas Tradition is “watching my kids open their gifts and all the Christmas baking.”

Alison makes amazing allergy friendly cakes and is the queen of decorating and finding alternatives for egg. She has given me so much advice over the years and I love to see the bakes she creates! She is an allergy parent, teacher and allergy advocate.

On the 3️⃣ day of Foodmas my community gave to me

Chocolate & Orange Pot by @theallergyteam.

This recipe is free from top 14 allergens. Contains coconut.

Easy recipes are perfect for this season when we are doing so much cooking. We need some terrific recipes that aren’t too time consuming.

The Allergy Team is formed of terrific people. Two of which are sharing their traditions.

Sarah’s (founder) favourite Christmas Tradition is “the children piling into our bed in the morning to open their stockings. The mix of excitement for the bulging socks and anticipation for the day ahead is really special.”

And Jen’s (who developed the recipe) favourite Christmas tradition is “making Christmas puddings for her whole family and eating Christmas pudding with brandy butter, which is served in the same glass that my grandmother served it in.”

The Allergy Team helps families living with food allergies thrives. I have worked with them over this year, and they are incredible at implementing the human side of allergies when talking to caterers. I am so glad they are doing this work!

On the 4️⃣ day of Foodmas my community gave to me

AIP & Vegan Scalloped Sweet Potatoes by @open_cookbook.

This recipe is free from top 14 allergens. Contains coconut.

A potato side dish is all I look for in a Christmas meal (or any meal for that matter)

Stephanie’s favourite Christmas Tradition is “making dinner with my family. My parents and I started making beef stroganoff for Christmas many years ago. We have had to adapt the recipe as my food allergies have evolved but we make sure to have it every year. I am happy to finally be able to spend Christmas with them this year and I have a new Top 8 Free version of beef stroganoff that I can't wait to share with them.”

Stephanie is a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner (NTP) and allergy-friendly recipe developer. The Open Cookbook is a space that shares easy free from Top 8 and AIP/Paleo recipes that are full of flavor, to help bring joy back to the kitchen, for people managing  food allergies or autoimmune diseases. AIP: the Autoimmune Protocol

On the 5️⃣ day of Foodmas my community gave to me

Christmas Tree Cupcakes by @howtocoeliac.

This recipe is free from gluten and nuts. Contains dairy and eggs.

I love this recipe. Simple, cute and it’s got strawberries.
Morgan’s favourite Christmas Tradition is “eating pastries for breakfast, a little bit difficult since going gluten free, but can still be done!”

Morgan is a gluten free blogger, blogger, recipe developer, cat mum and a BLACK BELT! Morgan hails from New Zealand but lives in London. She is probably the funniest person I follow. Even thought I can have gluten, her content is just 🔥 that I had to follow her.

On the 6️⃣ day of Foodmas my community gave to me

Lemon Bundt Cake by @cookingwithfoodallergies - recipe by @take_a_bake_break.

This recipe is free from peanuts and soy. I suggest switching almond flour with @creativenature gluten free flour. Contains eggs and dairy.

I have never made a Bundt cake before and I have always wanted to! Glad I have the recipe now!

Maria’s favourite Christmas Tradition is “to bake Christmas cookies with my sister and share them!”

Cooking with food allergies was created by a bunch of teenagers, all with food allergies, sharing allergen friendly recipes and giving advice for living the best life with them! I wrote a blog post about them, sharing some of their advice- it’s definitely worth a read.

On the 7️⃣ day of Foodmas my community gave to me

A savoury penguin pie by @rosiebrandreth

This recipe is free from nuts.

If you know me at all, you know I love Penguins- like obsessed. As in I have 4 pillows on my sofa that have penguins (I don’t want to tell you the extent of it actually). So that is why I am obsessed with this bake.

Rosie’s favourite Christmas Tradition is “buying a new tree decoration each year relevant to what’s happened that year - last year I got a mini kitchen aid, this year I got a horse shaped bauble. Also making Christmas cake a week before Christmas every year because I forgot and drowning it in brandy then giving it to my sister to decorate - she usually does a David Attenborough type animal scene often with blood.”

Rosie is a terrific baker and decorator. By day she is an animal vet. She has a nut allergy, so all bakes are nut free. I love that Rosie challenges herself and develops amazing recipes, but I also love that she is sharing nut free baking in the mainstream- as she was on @thebakeoff and won the Christmas bake off in 2020. Rosie also does incredible online baking classes- I’ve met her in person and she is just as amazing as on tv.

On the 8️⃣ day of Foodmas my community gave to me

Chocolate Chip Peppermint Cookies by @allergylicious

This recipe is free from dairy, eggs, & nuts.

Peppermint is quintessential Christmas and we all know I love a cookie! Definitely give this recipe a go for the big day.

Nicole’s favourite Christmas Tradition is “baking Christmas cake with the kids and eating it for breakfast to celebrate Jesus’s birthday”

Rosie makes incredible allergy friendly bakes, which not only taste amazing but look incredible too. She is an allergy mum, and she creates her recipes to help others on their allergy journey. I am obsessed with her recipes, and did a blog last year were I ate like her- best time ever (pretzel pesto 🤤)
