RECIPES: Rice Krispie donuts

makes 6 donuts

I’ll level with you. I eat Rice Krispies every single day. They are in my protein balls, sometimes I just have them in a bowl dry. I love making Rice Krispie treats for my nanny family. It is a special treat and I make shapes out of them for different occasions. All of my kids love donuts (who doesn't) so I tried to make them into donuts. I think they turned out well.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 stick salted butter

  • 1 bag marshmallows

  • Rice Krispies (as needed)

  • Icing sugar (as needed)

  • Water

  • Sprinkles

Method

  • Over medium heat melt butter. Once melted add the marshmallows until melted and take off heat

  • Add in Rice Krispies until all the marshmallow mixture is combined throughly to them.

  • Rub some butter on your hands to keep the mix from sticking. Grab a ball of mixture and shape into a donut -- if its sticky add more butter to your hands. Place on a tray or cooling rack.

  • Repeat until you have used all the mixture - *be fast as it is a lot easier molding when warm* - let them cool before adding the icing.

  • In a small bowl add icing sugar, add a small amount of water and combine until it is thick but runny. Pour on the donuts and add sprinkles.

  • Place in the fridge until serving.
